YOUTH
YOUTH
Have a teen? We've got you covered. GBF offers a youth program for 7th-12th graders. Your kids will be in a safe environment where they can learn about Jesus, fellowship with peers, eat some snacks, and play some games.
At GBF, our youth join us in Sunday morning worship. On Wednesday nights, they meet at the youth "Cave" from 6:15-7:30pm. If you are interested in having your teen attend Youth, please fill out the form linked below. You can also see a list of our upcoming dates/events at the bottom of this page.
FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
The Youth meet 6:15-7:30pm on Wednesday nights at the youth building.
The doors open at 6:15pm. Students can come in and play games, eat snacks, and hang out until praise and worship begins around 6:30pm. Then, they participate in a Bible study that is engaging and facilitates thoughtful discussion, typically with fill-in-the-blank notes. After study, students will usually play games and chat until their parent/ride arrives.
We have a youth calendar linked below. In addition to Wednesday night Bible study, the youth typically have at least one hangout scheduled each month. This can be a lunch at a sponsor's home, disc golf at the park, a swimming party, or the occasional road trip to a sports event or concert.
There are three major events scheduled thorughout the year: (1) Spring Retreat, (2) Youth Camp (summer), and (3) Wake Up Weekend (fall). All of these events will be on the calendar and will come with multiple reminders/information beforehand. We will give you plenty of notice if any paperwork or payment is required.
There are multiple ways to get involved with the youth group. First and foremost, we are ALWAYS in need of snacks/drinks. If you would like to donate any items, you can bring them to the youth building or GBF. Contact Matt if you have any questions about what you can bring.
Another way you can serve the youth is to give toward the youth fund. This builds throughout the year and helps provide scholarships for teens that might not be able to pay for camps/retreats.
Last, but not least, you can offer your time as a Youth Mentor. We have amazing parents that join us during youth on Wednesday nights or as sponsors at camps/retreats. If you are interested in helping in one of these ways, please reach out to Matt for more information.
Spring Retreat
Each spring our youth group gets away to a weekend retreat for Bible study, worship, and fellowship. This is a time of restoration and a time to be challenged as we enter a new season.
Youth Camp
Each summer we participate in a Christian-based youth camp. This past year we attended camp at Riverbend Retreat in Glen Rose, TX.
Wake Up Weekend
Much like our Spring Retreat, our youth get away for a weekend to dive into God's Word and have fun together away from the pressures of life. This is a time of reflection, as we consider the year we've had and move forward in our walk with Christ.
